yes, i think it's because the climate of florida is literally like a hothouse--it's always very hot and humid, so it's easy for them to grow. when i lived in santa barbara, i had orchids that i was always trying to get to rebloom, but they never did. i left my orchids in florida and gave them to a friend, because they were so happy there.

my il-laws had special room for them, himidity and temp controlled. Plants were always blooming. We can't reproduce it here. Damn. Maybe we should stick to cacti and violets.
