Description During my stay in Japan, I visited Heian Jingu, the famous Heian Shrine in Kyoto which is home to one of the largest Torii Shrine Gates in Japan and hosts the Jidai Matsuri or Festival of the Ages. Behind the shrine is a famous garden which, while beautiful in all seasons, and can be viewed in Summer for the irises and lotuses. I also learned that the gardens are particularly beautiful during rainfall as well.

Sekkyo simply means stone bridge and is not limited to this specific style of bridge. This bridge in particular does have a name, Garyu-kyo, and is a famous site in the Heian Jingu garden. The most beautiful I have ever seen it is in Winter when it is covered in snow and ice, and in Summer when it is surrounded by blooming lotus.

So do I . They're one of those perfect flowers, both physically and poetically.

That's what I'm most fond of in this picture. I really wanted a good picture that combined the rain, lotuses, and the stone bridge in a beautiful way.
