Description
A test I did using a fluid simulation in RealFlow, which was converted into a mesh to be used in Maya, applied a transparent, refractive red phong shader to create the look of red wine. The grail was modeled with NURBS using a single curve, revolved to create the grail shape. This was later converted to polygons to be used in RealFlow. A fractal displacement map was applied to the cup, along with a brown blinn shader to give it an aged look. The final result you see here was rendered in mental ray. Took 2 days to render separately on my laptop.
