Description
So I imagine that Raaga, as caretaker of the worlds' mountains, occasionally creates small "minion"-like esks to serve a specific task. That way, Raaga can wander about, content in the knowledge that one specific task is being done while he does something else.In this case, he wanted some-esk to travel the area humans call the Sierra Nevada mountains, and cultivate the flowering plants there. So, he wandered about the caves within the mountains until he came across a small collection of well preserved dinosaur egg fossils.
Perfect! The eggs had provided safety and comfort for the tiny lives they'd once held. The esk that sprang from the shells would no doubt provide the same care for the plants it tended.

That is honestly such an amazing and perfect backstory for this esk, I love that. Especially the little detail about how the esk would provide the same care for the plants because of the safety and comfort the eggs had once provided.
