Description This is a full-scale, (relatively) lightweight foam-latex LARP prop that I commissioned from the Midwest-based shop Forged Foam for my friend Gabrielle (a.k.a. Powerhouse Cosplay).  The weapon is a replica of Amethyst Destiny, a draconic greatsword/zweihander that I designed for Ro'Wennah the Midnight Moon Dragon, a "Dungeons & Dragons" character that I helped Gabby create based on the Midnight Moon Dragon figure manufactured by Safari, Limited.

You can see the original design plans for the massive sword in the links below.  The prop was built at full scale, making it five feet, six inches in overall length.  That's nearly as tall as I am (I'm 5'8"), but Gabby is six feet tall so it's no problem for her.

Ro'Wennah herself is rooted in 4th edition Nentir Vale/Points of Light lore, a dragon who was once a dear friend of the human sorceror/queen who would become the 4e version of the Raven Queen.  Plotwise, this magical greatsword was designed and forged for the dragon to use when polymorphed into a human or winged humanoid; its magical capabilities allow the weapon to replicate the dragon's fearsome necrotic breath weapon, which she doesn't have access to when polymorphed, and Ro'Wennah would use it when fighting in the Dawn War as a Swordmage.

The Iokharic/Draconic script running down the blade reads "May I Never Take An Undeserving Life," while the two sides of the pommel have script reading "Amethyst" and "Destiny."
