Through all the sculpting my athritis is hurting badly, so I took some days off sculpting and started crafting quillpens again^^This is one of my very favourites - even if the photo is really bad
I´m sorry >.<The quill is arranged from a huge brown wingfeather and multiple eye- and swordfeathers. Then I painted the peafowl portrait on the feather, using a small brush and Citadel-Colors
The hold is wrapped in green satin ribbon and embellished with two metal ornaments and a brass peafowl charm I decoated ith a glass cabochon.

It is such a beautiful feather quill, I love how every detail is thought out and how the colors compliment each other, and the peacock portrait is a pure wonder
I've been wondering something for quite a moment though, I hope you'll be able to answer me. When you wrap the ribbon, do you wrap it around the brown feather, or is there something else, cylindric, in this part of the quill? I don't understand how to do this part.
Also, is the nib glued or is it possible to change it? How to make a feather quill in which you could change the nib, does one have to use a dip pen then wrap the ribbon around it? (I hope my questions are clear, I don't really master all the English vocabulary of this kind of crafts

Of course^^
I´arrange all smaller feathers on the big wingfeathers quill using hotglue. After I arranged everything I wrap the satin arround the quill/hold of the big wingfeather. Peafowls wingfeathers have a very thick and long quill, thats why its looking so good^^
My nibs are al glued on and then wrapped over with the satin, so they can not be changed >.< I´m still thinking of a good way to work in a dip pen as you said, but until now all my experiments looked horrible ;_; But I think its possible that way, I only need more training
