Unfortunately, I haven't seen that movie yet!
But the characters look really nice, especially the "Monster" Francoeur!
I have a soft spot for insect like creatures, especially since District 9!
So here is a District 9ish version of him! I hope you like it!

I admire your work, you capture both the realist image of Francoeur without making him look completely repulsive! It would be cute if they did a live-action version of "A Monster in Paris", starring your version of him.

A month ago, it occured to me that Francoeur (the animated version) looked like he was the hybrid off-spring of a Poleepkwa (AKA "Prawns") and a Na'vi. He has the prawns insect body, but the Navi's face and blue complexion.

Funny you should mention 'the beauty in' nature and science, if you've watched the movie, you should know that Francoeur was technically created by science. (Well, by accident anyway).
Ever since I saw the movie, I have developed a fascination with creating characters like Francoeur, each an individual bug with a different name, from different countries, with a different area of talent. So far, I have done a walking leaf insect, a dog flea, a tick, a mole cricket, a diving beetle, butterfly, flower mantis, and daddy long legs (harvestman).

My fascination to insectlike aliens started with those "gods from outer space" comics. There were insect aliens too(the insectoids).

I knew about this movie for YEARS, its awesome its finally coming out. I love your rendition, hes super cool as a bug. People draw him so cutesie, so this is refreshing. I wanna do a tribute but I'll probably wait till after I see the flick. X3
