Day One: Favorite GargoyleI started another challenge! Oh God, what have I done...? Any way, I'm going to try my very best to keep up with this one, because I totally kept up with the last one! Eh-heh... (Ahem, no you didn't...) So, for gargoyles, it's a whole lot easier to chose your least favorite characters than it is to choose your favorite characters. Now, from the very beginning I knew I was going to draw Brooklyn, one because he's fun to draw (even though nine times out of ten I fail...) but two he's always been my 'favorite' for lack of a better term. I was always drawn to his sarcastic and, somewhat reckless, attitude. Plus, ya know, looks never hurt. XD
But I also had Bronx in mind, mostly because he's so freaking cute! I mean just look at him whenever the clan leaves him behind when they go out on patrol! I swear, if gargoyle beasts could cry, he would be balling!
In the long run, they're all amazingly well thought-out characters and each have their own unique personality (even if on occasion it makes us want to hate them).

There have been times in the past when I wouldn't have been, much as it shames me to admit it. But, I like to think, being older, I'm wiser and more mature, and seriously, the only outcome of getting pissy would have been to dampen your interests in art altogether, right? Or, at the very least, the Gargoyles fandom. Lose-lose situation for everyone. The world needs more artists, not former artists who were spurned by the very community they wanted to be a part of.

I think we are all definitely capable of being nasty in situations like that. But it's nice to know there's a few people out there at least that handle things calmly. ^^ And I readily agree. A lot of my friends have been deterred, not just because they were being yelled at for sealing artwork (though she was coloring directly over the original...) but because they were being scorned and outcast because of their inexperience with drawing. I felt horrible but I didn't feel like there was anything I could do for her.
