Had this idea of a villain for my character, Kitsune, and wanted to give him a Japanese name as well. Did some digging and found that an Obake is a supernatural being that transforms into different forms, and can also be the ghost of a deceased human being. My thinking here (and it's still rough at this point) but the Obake has been following Kitsune and his family for generations, and may or may not be the reason they left Japan for America...Still in the early stages.
