The Caravan Class of Modular Hauler began it's life as a failed attempt to break into the cutthroat market of shipping, despite this the design would go on to function in a multitude of alternative roles during the Clone Wars with most being used as Prison Transports. The Caravan would be quite successful as a prison transport, so successful that it would continue to serve in that role even during the days of the Empire and beyond.
