What medium did you use since you put traditional media?

I pencilled and inked it traditionally. I used a Power Mac and Photoshop 7 to color it.

I remember when I was growing up during the 80s/90s there seemed to be a trend of grown-ups dressing up their living room with pastel colored picture paintings of dolphins not unlike how this cover look. If this was some kind of throw back to that era, then kudos on you. If not, well its still a uniquely designed and lively cover that you should be proud of still.
There such a simple joy to it that is both quaint and narrative. Its always fun to see heroes contrast against the rawness of nature which has a might all of its own that render these characters with various shades of strength but also humanity.

I had another one I pitched that I really wanted to do where is was her typical teenage girl's bedroom and she was trying to decide which costume to wear. Her closet was full of all the different costumes she's worn over the year. I recently saw a cos-player do a similar thing for a photo shoot. I saw it as more of a Norman Rockwell moment than the typical "Supergirl smashing something" cover.

Awesome cover, i always liked supergirl and by the way; thanks for telling me about Andrew Loomis. I met you at fanboy expo 2012 and I studying his stuff ever since. I think its improved my art too.

Thanks! I wish they'd used it, but in hindsight I see its shortcomings. Glad that Loomis has helped you. It's so great that his books are back in print for artists of every generation to use as the fantastic resource they are.
