Description An adopt I just got from
He's a rotor alt, Praxian, well off but not a noble and doesn't sneer like that normally.
He's a sculptor, flirts shamelessly and he loves Seekers.
His name means Hawk in Tsalagi.

Thanks to those who gave name ideas.

That is a awesome design...
Towodi (Tsalagi for Hawk) That is just sort of what comes to my mind when I look at him.

Agreed. I was so happy he didn't sell until I could buy him.

Oh, Towodi is awesome. It's now in the top two contenders (along with Rigaru (regal in Japanese)). Thanks for the great idea.

It is an awesome design! It's surprising they sold it, I'd have kept it to myself! Really cool...
I gotta see if I can scrounge up the money for a commission by , have her draw mine, Meanstreak. If I didn't just blow my paycheck at wish.com...
(Didn't realize you were a Bravestarr fan, too...)

I'm often surprised at what is sold, but I can understand the reason given: if you no longer use it and you aren't emotionally attached, it might as well go to someone who will use it and earn some money in the meantime.

If I ever actually left a fandom, I'd probably do it too, but since I don't I can't imagine there are many I'd be willing to part with even for a good offer. And the whole issue of what happens to the stories they're in because those will not be coming down to humor a new owner.

She's got some nice commissions on offer for $5 and $10.  forgottenhope547.deviantart.co… -- assuming you meant the artist who did this. I snagged one to get an image of Towodi smiling, because in my head he does fairly often.

And yes, I love Bravestarr too, and BMFM, SWAT Kats, Stargate, Star Wars, Gargoyles TAS, Mighty Ducks TAS, X-men, MotU, Thundercats, Batman/Justice League, Voltron, Scooby-Doo, Mythbusters, Galaxy Rangers ... and probably a few I'm forgetting at the moment.

Definately a great list of shows to enjoy! I wish more was available on disk. I just scored the box set for M.A.S.K.
Awesome!

I remember MASK, and yes, that is a good score.
And just looked, and yap, you're only about a year younger than I am.

Yup, we got all the best cartoons... Makes me feel bad for kids these days.

Feel bad for the kids, sure, but who I really feel for are the skilled artists that aren't in style anymore. Between Rugrats, South Park and Simpsons, it seems like common culture has decided that attractive and skilled artwork is not welcome on American TV anymore.

Oh I agree! We grew up with "BADASS!" and "AWESOME!" ad it seems silly and sloppy are the new keys they look for. I know that these guys have a lot of work to do to make these animations and they have to mass produce them at mind bending speed but a lot of what we watched back in our day relied on art and didn't have computers doing as much of the work. Sometimes I look at these newer shows and it seems the art styles are almost designed to hide the lack of original character creativity as if they are prepared to say "Well the art style doesn't translate that sort of idea very well." You watch TMNT or Biker Mice From Mars or Bravestarr and you KNOW what you're watching. Anymore so many cartoons are of "That style" as one YouTuber put it that it's almost like the networks are going off of data only.
"Our charts show that children respond to this cartoon, so we're going to create something of a similar look." which kinda kills the artistic expression. Some could argue to an extent "M.A.S.K. and G.I. Joe had similar art styles!"
But they had totally unique atmosphere. Like Bravestarr and He-Man had completely different atmospheres even though they had similar style.

The unique atmospheres had more to do with the settings being radically different IMO.  There was a lot of exploring and going different directions with a lot of different companies. You don't seem to get that variety anymore after so many buyouts. Almost everything seems set in more or less modern, middle-class suburbs. I doubt when you trace ownership down there are more than two companies producing stuff for the US anymore.

But go abroad, and you get great stuff. Not just anime, but from Europe too. Huntik: Secrets & Seekers was well worth watching despite being centered around young teens. Same guy who created Winx (which I'm not a total fan of the style, but it beats anything American of the time frame and wasn't on Earth). They're doing what we did in the 80's-90's. Good art, good stories and not set in our everyday world.

And nothing these days seems to feel EPIC anymore. I can't imagine anyone sitting down to watch these more modern cartoons all starry eyed in anticipation of the huge events that were going to unfold in that afternoon cartoon lineup. I can still clearly remember the opening music to all of our cartoons.
Maybe producers these days are aware that kids will be paying as much attention to their smart phone or tablet than the cartoon.
Even Mighty Orbots or Silverhawks felt so cinematic almost like every single episode was as much a movie as it was a half hour distraction. Even Bucky O'Hare and Earthworm Jim as short as those series went have a lot more going for them than these shows we air anymore. Fortunately more and more of the good stuff is finding its way to DVD and Blu Ray (Just got The Real Ghostbusters today as a matter of fact. Not long ago I had a channel that was airing other Ghostbusters cartoon which technically... was the FIRST Ghostbusters, you know, with the Gorilla)
I even have (I think) all of the Go-Bots on DVD. Converted from VHS!

Not epic kinda goes with the setting. It's kinda hard to be epic in suburbia. Has something to do with the rise of 'reality TV' IMO. They're linked. Both have no setting excitement, no fantasy to them. Way too close to RL for me.

A huge portion is on DVD these days, which makes me happy. Most are even at good prices. I love Amazon for that. Print on demand tech has made it practical to keep so much stuff available.

The one I'm hoping shows up and don't expect to is Wildfire. Though it's possible. A lot of Hanna-Barbara has been put out lately. The first program I ever recorded (back in '86). Back when cartoons ran 27 min, not 22.

Yeah, they do seem to want to keep everything in a safe bubble free of any real conflict.
Thank heaven for YouTube! I can even record off of YouTube. The quality isn't great, but it works. Time is the hardest thing to come up with for it.

I have some ideas
Sirius
Magma
HunterBeast
BlackHunter
Mechanal

Some neat names there. Though much as I think Mechana sounds cool, I can't write that with a strait face. My brain lives far too deep in the gutter for it.

Sirius is a good one too, and as much as I like BlackHunter, it doesn't suit the character in my head.

Thanks for all the ideas.
