OKAMI Okami okami....I LOVE Okami, been putting this off for a while now, I hold this game deeply to my heart and as such have never attempted to emulate the traditional watercolour and ink style the game so elegantly displays....
More of an experiment than anything, before I start on some final fan art illustrations I'll put up some of my sketches....

Yes, this pic is almost 100% digital apart from the Kanji lettering which is scanned in ink....
You can use Corel Painter to achieve digital ink....

Pretty much yeah! For me there's just so much to adore about the game, the charming story, the beautiful music and exceptional visuals....
I'm a bit of graphics whore, when I play my games I go our of the way to look at textures closely, analyse the layouts and general designs, I'll spot low rez textures and oddities in a heartbeat....
But for Okmai, it looks so authentic to that of a traditional painting, I'm simply gob smacked each time I play, everything looks so natural, the ink flows a and blends beautifully....
The game is such a treat on so many levels, plus its just fun to let loose and be expressive with the mark makings, really enjoying illustrating Ammy....

To me, I really love playing that game because of the unique story. Story suitable for most type of people, casual OR hardcore gamers alike. I also love the music in the game, especially the last part where Issun tells everybody about Ammy (If I'm not mistaken. Haven't play it for quite some time now...).
Oh oh oh! And the graphics as well. Another reason why I play that game because of its unique style. Those paintbrush and all. You don't see that type game often...
Sigh, thinking of Okami brings back so much memory. I JUST remembered that whenever Ammy runs, flowers grow on wherever she steps.

Yeah, Ammy runs and grass clumps appear, a little faster we see flowers/plants growing and at full speed golden plants bloom out!
On water lillypads appear, while jumping leaves blow! Ammy's quite the naturalist!
The end where people start to believe in you again was awesome, so heart warming....

That's a dam good question, I haven't got that far on my play through at the moment but I believe he left to develop as an artist, he watched Ammy control the celestial brush for so long....
