Description
Of spooks and ghost hunters: ch. 4: Harold Buster
Blackhollow, United Kingdom
A young man enters the cemetery with an upgraded vacuum in his hand; inside the graveyard grounds are various hordes of phantasms swarming around. He discovers a runic manor manifested with more phantasms. He perceives the effect of the activity, for the visions haunting him begin to plague the area. Fortunately, it didn't cease him from tracking down the level of psychokinetic energy within the area. In fact, the result of the impact must have attributed with the supernatural regarding their spiritual occurrences. The lights from the chandelier commence to flicker on and off simultaneously as the temperature decreases rapidly from the thermostat. He surveys the integrity of the cellar and proceeds to the exhibit hall to garner any sordid details from his investigation; as a result, the outcome explicated the expansion of the ghost world reveals a solemn approach from the interior. The living room furniture is surrounded with dove white blankets, and candelabras flick blue fire to render an eerie vibe.
This reminds me of the same haunted house I visited before. The vision I witnessed of myself have stumbled me from its illusion. Harold thought.
"Looks awfully quiet." The bespectacled male responded, monitoring the particular activity, and he hears footsteps increasing around the hallways as he adjusts a specialized upgraded vacuum cleaner, in which contains various evil spirits.
He hears a series of ghostly voices reverberating across the hallways on his left; in addition, the levels of psychokinetic energy escalate when the ghosts tend to range on the attack. The young male takes a paranormal scan of the halls until mirror glasses shoot towards him but miss in one blow. The male somersaults to the right and points his weapon to fix a scan of the entity attacking him. A feminine figure emerges from the shattered mirror, and the woman lifts her head to catch a fiery glare at the boy.
"Harold Buster." The female's sadistic voice called his name.
"I can definitely sense your high accumulation, Ms. Bloodworth. You may have managed to break me, but you won't be the first to think so." Harold replied, pointing his weapon at her.
"You wish you regret your decision of entering my manor." she stated, extracting a knife drenched in human blood.
"Not if I trapped you with my E-Gun." Harold declared.
Maria Bloodworth hovers him and stabs him with her knife, but Harold deflects the tip of her blade and brushes her from sight. Maria slashes him with her bloodstained knife though Harold evades her knife slash and blasts beams from his E-Gun at her; conversely, Maria rages with her smeared knife and manipulates mirrored shards from her cracked mirror. Harold slips to avoid her knife's swings and blasts its beam to whisk her. On the other hand, Maria hovers from the ground and stabs him with her knife. She holds her mirror out to shoot a sphere of blood. Harold defends himself from the blood and lashes his vacuum whip, inflicting damage to her. Maria ripostes with her blood knife and summons a wave of glass shards before floating them horizontally, and she holds her mirror to summon a gory blood hand to nab him. He dodges and blasts his specter hand from his E-gun at her as the both hands collided each other. Harold dodges her wave of shards and fires his beams at her.
Now where did she wander off to? Harold pondered.
Maria constructs a full-length mirror to teleport herself from behind him, but Harold eyeballs at her emerging from behind and elbows her from the back. He points his E-gun to aim for her; on the other hand, Maria rages with her knife and summons an edge of broken glass from the ground. She hovers for a short period and manipulates mirror shards. The shards encircle her as she directs them toward Harold to perform multiple hits. Harold bulges his eyes and avoids the mirror shards coming toward him.
This is starting to become more serious. If I don't expel her soon, I'll be diced or worse. Harold thought.
Maria rushes forward with her knife and stabs him, knocking him to the ground. She swings her mirror to manipulate translucent mirror shards, allowing them to levitate, and barrage on him. Fortunately, Harold thwarts her attack by firing a vacuous puddle of positively charged green slime to glue her. On the other hand, Maria summons another warp mirror to avoid the slime and stabs Harold in the back. She stabs Harold multiple times in the chest inflicting damage to his ribs and intestines. She hovers backwards and constructs glass shards in mid-air before bolting them at him. She sends more shards to slice his sockets. Harold backs away and covers his eyes.
"Prepare to die young, ghost hunter!" Maria shouted, planning her move to destroy him by backing away to build a wall mirror, "Come on, gaze your reflection."
A badly wounded Harold pants for breath and grows incensed, "not in this scene or ever." He points his E-Gun to launch a ghastly parasite to thwart her fatal finisher as it ranges her face.
The glass mirror shatters into miniature pieces revealing just Maria with the parasite holding her accountable. He gives himself a boost from his E-Gun before grabbing its hose; in addition, Harold swings it outward at Maria, damaging the mandible. He fires his ghostly hand straight at Maria, grabbing her face and squeezing her eyes. It pulls her toward the E-Gun, caving the skull and shattering the tissue of the brain. Maria breaks free and sweeps her knife though Harold evades them.
Harold throws his fist at Maria and thrusts his knee to kick her in the face. He fires a calescent beam of energy at the adversary, crushing her ribcage, and he sweeps his weapon at the adversary before thrusting her to the ground. Harold delivers a roundhouse kick to the chest, and he uppercuts with his E-gun and fires another beam of energy at her. Maria glares at him and hovers toward him with her knife in hand. Harold rolls to avoid the slashes and launches a parasite from his E-Gun to attack her. Maria rises from the ground nearly semiconscious as Harold throws his left fist to punch her in the face, sending her unconscious. After a rough round with her, Harold lets out a deep sigh and crosses his arms together.
"Looks like you are just another urban legend, Bloodworth." Harold replied, sweeping the dust from his lab coat and proceeds to the second floor for any prominent anomaly within the perimeter.
A sudden noise occurs from the hallways as Harold points his E-Gun to the right to indicate the disturbances affecting the area.
"Bingo, that's where she left her trail." Harold responded to himself, and he notices something occurring from the far distance.
He notices an open door brightening from a barren room and shields his eyes from the bright light. As its streak fades from existence, Harold uncovers his eyes and perceives the ultimate obstruction made by the paranormal, for he hustles to the other side of the hallway. On the other hand, a ghastly male in a jet black cloak blasts his blue wisps at him, and Harold catches a scan of the entity roaming down the hallways. In addition, a cloaked entity swipes his right arm upward though Harold evades it and throws his left fist to punch him in the chest. On the other hand, the entity nudges his head to catch a diabolical stare at Harold with a sadistic smirk on his face. The entity appears to be a wraith as balls of blue wisps encircle his body.
"Dougal." Harold responded.
"The darkness awaits you, ghost hunter." The wraith by the name of Dougal Morford stated, and he constructs an orb of ghastly energy and tosses it at Harold but misses in one shot.
Dougal darts toward him with ethereal drill and zig-zags to shove him to the ground until a parasite plunges him apart from him. The parasite scuttles to return to the E-Gun, and Harold pushes his round glasses from the bridge of his nose.
"What do you want from me, you sick spook?" Harold asked, pointing his E-Gun at the adversary.
"To reignite our feud. Your very presence has established my greatest accomplishment to higher power." Dougal smirked.
"Your accomplishment?" he inquired, "You're eradicating the entire populated town of Blackhollow, and now you are plaguing everything."
"Kuh huh huh, your foolishness will be the last thing you will ever regret upon." Dougal chuckled.
"You demented..." Harold was interrupted by Dougal's sweep, inflicting damage to him.
"I don't think you should finish your sentence, you broken tongue." he smirked.
Harold strides toward Dougal and punches him in the chest, shattering the ribcage and tissues of his lungs; in addition, he punches with his left fist and the right before kicking him in the shin. On the other hand, Dougal evades his attacks and sweeps his left hand to blast an orb of blue energy to inflict damage to him. He scratches Harold in the side and streams toward him with death's grip. Fortunately, Harold evades the fiend's spectral claw barrage with dodge roll and fires a beam from his E-Gun at him. He grips Dougal's left arm and elbows the joint, inflicting damage to his elbow joint fragments, and Harold thrusts his left knee to kick his abdomen. He plunges the adversary to the ground with his right knee. Dougal rises from the ground and conducts a barrage of azure wisps at him, blinding Harold's eyesight, and he punishes Harold with a high kick. The electric blue wisps cluster on Harold, inflicting medium damage on him. Dougal ignites the blue wisps to augment the damage to him, and he brushes him with spectral sweep. Harold endures from the ghastly sweeps and blasts a barrage of beams at the adversary; in addition, he catches his breath to relieve the systolic pressure of his heart, slowing down the blood cells. Subsequently, the spectral beams of Harold's weapon cluster at Dougal, though the wraith isn't ready to lose his grip, for he manages to rise and blasts a wisp ball at him. He dashes to the adversary and launches a parasite to attack him. Harold delivers a drop kick to the chest and punches him in the face. Dougal stumbles in unconsciousness and collapses to the ground though his condition remains stable.
"Now to go back to the cemetery." Harold declared, and he sprints downstairs and contacts the other ghost hunters whom he aligned with to inform him on the activity affected.
"Harold, come in." A male voice called his name through the walkie-talkie, and Harold answers the call.
"Harold, here. Proceed." he responded.
"It's Aiden, I'm in the slaughterhouse. Things are starting to become a battlefield than we expected." A male by the name of Aiden Van Helsing broadcasted from inside the slaughterhouse.
"Any word from the others?" he queried.
"Not yet. It looks like Damien exorcised a full-fledged demon from the victim's body. She couldn't remembered how or why the ghosts have appeared in numbers, but she knows is someone or something is causing more trouble for us." Aiden answered.
"I feel something occurring Aiden. It might be frightening." Harold informed, and he lifts his head to catch a view of the graves. On the other hand, voices of apparitions entice him to approach the corner.
"I know there's something inferior about this dilemma we are facing." he informed.
I'm sensing something bad about to struck. It must have been another paranormal disturbance within these tombstones. I knew it might be a problem. Harold thought.
He points his E-Gun to the left to survey the tombstones outside of the manor adjacent the cemetery and to the right to examine a ghastly fog surrounding his view. He bends on one knee to survey a few remnants of the deceased. Suddenly, another spirit swings forward and jumps out of the swing with a knife in hand. The ghost is described as a female with average weight; her dense, fringed chestnut brown hair breezes through the wind; her crimson eyes squints menacingly at him; she wears semi-formal business attire; her swing rattles in rusted chains. The feminine spirit picks up her knife from the ground and places it back to her sash before twitching her bloodshot eyes at him. Harold curls his thin lips downward and both his hands squeeze into fists.
"You still care about your business than searching for my son?" Her thick voice questioned him.
"I told you, Maple Ayers; I have never seen your child nor I agree to search." Harold claimed.
"You still can't find my child?! My child is not here!" Maple raged, and she extracts her knife from her pocket and charges toward him.
I shouldn't have said that. Harold thought, and he dodges her knife attacks before countering it.
Maple throws her knife towards him but misses as Harold fires the first beam from his E-Gun. On the other hand, she evades the attack and throws the chains from her swing to tangle him. Harold evades them with dodge roll and launches a radiant slime-green parasite from his E-Gun at her. On the other hand, Maple evades the parasite and performs a backhand at him before sweeping her knife, inflicting damage to him. She whips at the ground with one of the swing's chains; she kicks his shins with her left leg and jumps to flutter both her legs sideways. Maple roundhouse kicks him to the wall, and Harold redeems his consciousness and grips his E-gun. Maple swings forward and leaps off her swing to deliver a downward stab, but Harold dodges it quickly and blasts another beam at Maple, shattering the rib cage . He extends his left foot and kicks her in the abdomen, fracturing the ribs. Maple hinders from the damage and drags her hand to extend one of the chains from her swing. She swings forward to attack Harold, but he evades the attack and fires a spectral parasite at Maple in the face. Harold uppercuts her with its E-gun, sending her upward, and he blasts a beam to plunge her to the ground. Maple performs swing spin kick to shove him to the ground and summons a shadow of one of her children to strive against him. Harold sweeps his E-gun and tends to absorb her before blowing her out; in addition, he places his weapon back to its pack and crosses his arms together.
"From now on, you need to take good care of your children. If you don't, you know what will happen." Harold advised, and he hustles to the end of the cemetery to find a ginger haired female badly bruised and a bulky black male carrying her out of the scene.
"Harold, there's something that might be terrifying, yet I'm not sure where it came, but this has to be a poltergeist." he confirmed.
"Jake, slow down. Where did you seen it?" Harold asked him.
"Over there! You don't think she's mad as a pack of wolves. Do you?" Jake queried.
"Frankly, there's a chance as in an adversary might be within this exterior." Harold theorized.
He receives a strong paranormal reading from his E-Gun's sensor, and it detects a paranormal signal occurring from the objects on the ground. Harold fixes a full scan to ensure on the activity being affected, and a poltergeist begins to collect the objects. A platinum silver circular television screen switches on by itself to reveal a sinister female face. In addition, the screen of the television appears to be fully black and white, and Harold perceives to see a poltergeist rampaging the area based on the phantom signal levels accumulating its range.
"Well, it looks like somebody has forgotten to clean up the kitty litter." The poltergeist snickered.
"What kitty litter?" Jake asked.
"Jake, I suggest you take Shawna out of here. I'll deal with this poltergeist myself." Harold suggested.
"Dude, are you sure about this? She'll have you in shreds in one blow." Jake responded.
"For some reason, I already told Aiden about it. Now go!" he ordered, and Jake nods his head in agreement and carries Shawna as he rushes out of the cemetery.
"Why are ghosts bad liars?" Carol quipped.
"You think you can tell me that joke. Why did you hurt Shawna in the first place?" Harold questioned her.
"Hurting? I don't hurt the ginger lady." Carol ridiculed, and Harold points his finger at her distasteful frowning of her answer.
"You are a terrible liar. That's because I can see right through you." he snapped.
"Tell me, four-eyes. Those illusions ridicule your theories when they accosted you. How are your nightmares with the paranormal? The first one you encounter is at a house you visited. So much hallucinations you have go through- the fear you experienced makes you want to quit." Carol laughed.
"That's enough! You may believe the hallucinations I confronted in the past, but your theories are claimed to be incorrect." Harold frowned.
Carol throws one of her plates at him, but he evades them and blasts a beam from his E-Gun, inflicting damage on her. He fires a spectral parasite from his E-gun at her, but Carol points her trimmer to inflict damage to him. Harold punches her TV head and swings his weapon to hit her. Carol points her trimmer and slashes him with it. She swings her golf club to trip him before blinding him with her fire extinguisher. Harold scrapes off the foam from his face and readies his weapon to face the poltergeist, and Carol performs knife rain at him. Harold dodges and launches himself upward with a boost from his E-Gun. He fires ghastly slime at Carol, smudging her television head. She waves her umbrella upwards and levitates a broom and sweeps off the ground. Harold somersaults forward and sucks the dust. He grabs the hose of his weapon and strikes it outward, inflicting much damage to her. Carol redeems her head and lunges her rickety plywood chair toward him, but he steps aside from the chair's direction and fires a spectral parasite to ravage her. After a rough encounter with the devious poltergeist, Harold redeems himself and states a staid message.
"Don't let me catch you again because if I do, you know what will happen." Harold declared, and he activates his communicator to contact Aiden, "graveyard's clear. Looks like we won't worry on the chaos any longer."
"The battle against Wiseman would have to wait. Right now, we got more problems to tackle." Aiden broadcasted from the other side of the street.
"More problems, hmm? I have a rational feeling the supernatural has expanded its level of energy." Harold frowned at the notion of the crisis.
"By the way, I spotted some cyborg girl who would like to meet you." he continued.
"Did she noticed about the incident?" Harold queried.
"Yeah. She called the paramedics a while ago to transfer her somewhere." he answered.
"A medical facility you were trying to say." Harold responded.
Disturbances appear to increase from his EMF detector, and metaphysical activity enhances its development. Suddenly, Harold detects another horde of malevolent spirits, at least 7 of them, besieging him, and the cyst shaped ghost with droopy skin snarls and extends its slick fingers. Its hard, chrome eyes fix at him. The ghost corners in on Harold, for they plan their attack. It storms toward him in rage until a luminescent spectral beam lashes the cyst shaped ghost, inflicting much damage. Harold pans his head to set his eyes on a certain bionic woman confronting the horde - Juliet Spengler. She beckons the ghastly horde to close her in, and the first ghost, a transparent bean shaped figure, which claims to be a class 5 full-roaming vapor, dashes to attack her. Juliet extends her left foot to kick the ghost in the face, and she snatches second and third cyst ghosts with both her hands and bumps both their heads before throwing them to the ground. She points her left hand and zaps her proton beams at the fourth cyst ghost from behind. In addition, Juliet tosses the fourth cyst ghost toward the tattered cloaked specter before it even raids on her. Harold watches the fracas between Juliet and the ghosts, and he points his E-gun to the direction the ghosts were rampaging.
"You there! Would you mind lend me a hand with these troublesome spooks? I need you to capture those ghosts with your weapon." Juliet suggested, and Harold understands her order and readies his E-Gun to capture the nine ghosts Juliet battled.
Juliet tosses the first and second cyst ghost toward Harold as he switches on his E-gun. He absorbs the two ghosts inside the vacuum, and Harold views the classification of the two entities from his E-gun's scanner as its virtual interface reveals their motives. Juliet thrusts her knee at the third cyst ghost in the back and kicks it toward him, and Harold captures the ghost, shredding it into miniature pieces. He captures the fourth through seventh cyst ghosts, and Juliet zaps her proton beam at the last of the cyst ghost and deactivates her ghost mode. Her radiant green eyes fade from existence, becoming normal jade green eyes, and she pans her head toward Harold.
"Are you Harold Buster?" she asked him, studying his physical appearance.
"I am, Miss." Harold answered, lowering his E-gun to catch a fixed glimpse of Juliet.
"I am Juliet Spengler, of the Ghost Corps. I'm here to assemble an army of ghost busters to battle forces of darkness. There's a victim named Jennifer. She was a student at Columbia University; an evil sorcerer named Luther Rutledge kidnapped her when we sent the young Ghostbusters on a mission with Dr. Venkman, who died after the explosion, and it appears thousands of ghosts have emerged to continue streaking negative energy across the Earth. I feel we need a lot of help we can find." Juliet stated, and Harold understands the objective.
"An evil sorcerer? Not this kind of encounter I would expect since battling Wiseman." Harold replied.
"I'm fondled on this wiseman character, but I have no idea who he is. Now our world is peril because of Cazzar Shandor, a member of the Shandor Cult. He was brought back by another adversary known as David Plemington." Juliet reported.
"Then what will happen to our world if the ghosts plague the entire human ecosystem? How will it affect our future?" Harold queried.
"The world will fall under Cazzar's hands, and our future will likely be more horrendous as a result of the psychic pulse. More importantly, if we can defend our home from mass hysteria, we must shut down the mandala and find the catalyst. It’s our only opportunity to end his plan." she responded.
“You have my word.” Harold replied, and Juliet nods her head as she activates a miniature portal pod.
“I’ll give my regards to Dr. Spengler if you care to heed every word.” she replied, stepping into the portal.
Harold pans his head to the graveyard and to the warp portal before following Juliet. Indeed, the feeling Juliet shared captivates his attention regarding the entire plan.
