I think it fits awsomely well, i trink pheobe is not only having the element of fire because of her being evil in firmer life, but she also has in many situations a very firery attitude and she likes to fight properly.
Piper being earth: of course!
I think Paiges temper and her way of seeing things really fits to being air.
And Prue as the oldest sister and reasonable acting has to be water.
Great idea, I always wonder when watching charmed what it would have been like if Prue hadn't died and they found Paige anyway... maybe they would have been the four elements

Wasn't Prue afraid of water? So how could her element be water?

First of all Prue was drowning in the pool by barbas the demon of fear so she fought her fear of water she's not afraid of water anymore even she try to fought the water demon herself alone until her sister paige father save her life so now she's an element of water,piper was the goddess of nature so she's an element of earth,phoebe well her past life was evil and her previous life she got married in the underworld so she's an element of fire and Paige she's a half witch and a half whitelighter she can orb cause orbing is flying so she's an element of air! Now you understand?
