The dazzlings are my favorites both as villains and characters but Starlight personally beats the ones from the show. Also well she is the polar oposite of the sirens

I like Starlight Glimmer a lot. I can identify with her very well.
She went the wrong way about everything, but she's not that far off with what she says about cutie marks, the cutie mark system in Equestria has some flaws and she was trying to raise awareness for that.
And the Opener showed pretty clear that she's just misunderstood in her intentions, she's not after power, she truly wanted to change Equestria for the better.
I hope she's alright whereever she is and that she can see one day what she did wrong with the way she tried to make Equestria better and then learn how to go about it the right way.

Well, I think the whole episode is about communism... xD but maybe you're right... maybe she tried to make Equestria to a better place. Starlight is an very interesting character, so she'll definetely come back 
All I have to say is, that I agree with you about Starlight. And I hope she'll try to make Equestria to a better place after all (I mean... Starlight sure have a lot of magic skills xD)

I hope that too. I hope that, if she gets defeated, she will not pressured into giving up her philosophy completely, but that she will, once having become good and after having realized how wrong she went in her ways, inspire Equestria's society and make it aware of it how some ponies give others' a hard time for their cutie marks (or for the lack of those), so that ponies like Diamond Tiara will get reined in and brought under control better. I really hope this will happen.
But I'm also worried about her. Starlight Glimmer is so fanatic in her philosophy and in reaching her goals that she might end up doing something very stupid to get her revenge on Twilight and her friends, something that endangers herself and kills her in the process. Her fanaticism just gives me such a vibe that she would do everything to get her revenge, even if it costs her life.
That's why I'm worried. I hope she doesn't die.

She's my favorite villain now. I find her the most interesting of the main villains by far. I mean, just thinking of why she developed her views is intriguing enough.
