I always find stuff like this fun and informative, so I thought I would post my process of how I made my most recent pic of Khaneeth. ^^

Step 1: Sketch--this is the hardest part for me, haha. This step can take anywhere from 30 minutes to like 3 hours, depending on how difficult the subject is. In this case it didn't take me too long; the hardest part to draw was the pose of his hand in the front there.

Step 2: Lines--Because my tablet is kind of old and the drawing area's a bit worn down, I tape a piece of drawing paper over it to make more natural-feeling lines. I think my lineart's been getting a little better because of that.

Step 3: Flat Colors + Shading--Probably the easiest step, just filling in the colors. ^^ Something else I like to do is not use totally black lineart--I do it in black at first, and then I preserve the opacity and go over it with a very dark version of a color I think would look good with the rest of the picture. In this case, I used a really dark red.

Step 4: Lighting Effects--This step is my favorite and the most fun for me to do. This is where I like to experiment with layer types and effects to make it look really cool!
