I was riding the bus on Thursday, and despite getting motion sickness when reading/drawing in vehicles I decided to sketch a small comic that came to mind. Mobius still has counterparts of our continents and some island. For instance, Austrailia -> Downunda (#pun )
Also, MObius is a planet not a country so that doesn't really help, plus all the Modern games take place on Earth.

Knux was originally meant to speak with a Jamaican accent (hence the dreadlocks-like Β quill style and the red, yellow and green colour scheme) but the creators decided not to follow through on that idea. So he was meant to sound Jamaican but didn't in the end so he has no ties whatsoever, just the red, yellow & green, which isn't really Jamaican, they're a symbol of Rastafarianism (it's a religion, check it out if you want). The whole Austrailian thing, in the comics, the continent that Angel Island was a part of - Downunda - is the Sonic Comics universe Austrailia. So, comic-wise, he is Austrailian, but that only applies to the comics, not the games or TV shows (expect for Sonic SatAM 'cause the comics are a continuation of that, so it applies to the comics and Sonic SatAM). Mayan? That's just a joke. So Knuckles is in fact Japanese because SEGA is Japanese, let's just end it here before Knux gets emo and develops drinking and smoking problems.
So, Knuckles is Japanese but sounds American. His fur is red, his eyes are purple, his socks are green and his shoes are red, yellow & silver. End of story.
