This was one of many shows I watched as a kid, and I enjoyed it, but sorta stopped watching it when it was nearing cancellation. I'm starting to re-discover the show thanks to the Season 1 DVD by Shout! Factory, and it's actually better than I remember. The animation's pretty dated, but it's handled pretty realistically, and it's done well. From what I've seen so far, there's no loud, bouncy cartoont stuff like REN AND STIMPY or the show of today, and yet it still holds my attention with it's subtlety and relaxed mood. Plus, Helga is probably one of the more complex characters I've seen in a cartoon. Her constant switch from hateful to loving Arnold makes her more three-dimensional. I'm eager to see what the rest of the show gives to me.
As for this supposed movie idea, it sounds more intriguing than the movie we've been given (haven't seen it BTW), but it's pretty obvious it won't happen. Craig Bartlett has moved on to other projects, and kids nowadays probably will have no idea who Arnold is. Who knows what the future will bring us, but the chances are pretty slim.
