Koto from Yu Yu Hakusho in casual clothing.
I drew this back in high school. Koto is my favorite YYH female character, so I definitely had to draw her. I think I would have liked this a lot more if my Crayola Color Pencils didn't make it look so waxy. @_@

For some reason, I tend to focus more on side characters than the main ones. Don' know why, perhaps the potential for my own characterization?

Haha. That's very understandable. For me, side characters are usually more compelling, because:
1) They have smaller fan-bases. I don't know why, but really large fan-bases tend to annoy me. X)
2) There isn't much known about them, so (just like what you've said) it gives us the opportunity to create interesting yet plausible material about them.
3) Some side characters are just more interesting than the main characters. XD

Heh heh, exactly. Agree on all your points. I guess some side characters can become like original characters one makes, if there's next to no information on them besides an appearance.
