Description I bought a Calla Lilly the other day just so I could play around with the camera. Had alot of fun using a flashlight,different exposure times, and using the b&w, sepia etc. This was one of my favorites of the group I did it in B&W and with a penlight. The only editing done to this was adding the frame/border.

Now this is a beautifully done shot. Simple and elegent beauty captured with a minimal lighting but very effective. The white calla lilly contrasts wonderfully with the black background. The crop is good too for you instantly are drawn and focus on the flower - not to mention that (to me at least) it beacons us to walk closer, take a sniff and maybe, perhaps, walk through this open flower like a tunnel and discover a magical world within.

Robert Maplethorpe did some interesting flower fotos, and I recall some callallilies. I'm not too familiar with his work...more so with his controversy.

i think you have done an excellent job with this Lily. I can't helpt but wonder how the Lily would reflect various colors because of it transparancy. Keep up the good work.
