In my mind, all centaurs should have mohawks.This piece is very cartoony and color-saturated, alot more than most of my other work. But the idea was nice, I thought, and I wanted it to have a lighter, pastoral feel. The girl is probably not a regular mortal human since she's carrying that large, heavy amphora that's filled to the brim with water with what looks like relative ease.

Disney's Hercules.
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, this is a very well done piece, i love the saturation and the stylization.

Judging by her outfit I'm guessing she's Spartan which means she could probably carrie that amphora on her HEAD.

Either that or she's half god, like Hercules. (Heracles for those that want to be culturally accurate.)

I would like to be able to fully appreciate what is quite clearly a humorous and skillful work ... but I simply cannot see enough of it to do so.
The dA default watermark is sitting so strongly in the middle of your carefully made composition that it's preventing me from genuinely and fully seeing what you are doing.
If you must have a watermark, I hope you'll consider a less intrusive alternative. And if you could at least display this without the dA default, I would gladly fave it and comment in detail.

Both are delicious Greek dishes. A gyro (pronounced "yee-roh") is lamb in a pita and baklava is a dessert with walnuts.

And a few casual asides:
I think the maidens were of way stronger stuff way back in the Grecian day. She'd have been able to heft that amphora if it were filled with sand.
Cntaurs like apples just fine. What they don't like, as it is implied here, is humans treating them like they are horses or stupid impressionable beasts. That behavior is worthy of a swift kick with a very heavy hoof.
I wish your's had been the centaur in the Disney "Hercules" movie. Instead of that hideous blue atrocity created by Searle.

like Disney's Hercules meets an actual BRAIN! It looks like a movie still, like the characters could start moving at any second.

Maybe she's not able to carry that amphora with ease, and that is why she is offering the centaur an apple, to bribe him to carry her back to the temple!
The inclusion of the satyr and naiad is a nice touch, and really makes the time they're all in seem really magical; as it should be! What I like best, though, is that the main figures are definitely what you focus on; the first time I saw this on your website, I didn't even see the two figures in the background!
The interaction between all of the characters is well done, but someone needs to warn that poor naiad of a satyr's lecherous tendencies.

I totally love the 'storybook' nature to this. It reminds me of the feel of the LucasArts game "Herc's Adventures" for the Playstation. Cartoony, bright, colorful and fun. Great stuff!
