Description

Three characters that I have been developing for a short story. I'm still not very satisfied with their design, maybe I'll tweak them later.

Long ago, there were two mighty kingdoms: the Marble Kingdom, where everyone had white skin and dark hair, and the Ebony Kingdom, where everyone had dark skin and white hair. They lived in peace for a long time, but a misunderstanding lead them to a devastating war which extended for many years. In the end, the Marble Kingdom prevailed and exterminated almost everyone belonging to the Ebony kingdom. Much time has passed since then, but the scars of war are still present. And maybe a new hope will be born to bring forgiveness and peace to all the survivors.

1) The nameless soldier: a soldier from the kingdom of Marble who deserted after realizing the war was simply pointless. For his betrayal, he was cursed to never be able to take away his armor. He joins the messenger girl and the sorcerer bird in order to find out how to cancel the curse, and find his lost honor.
2) The messenger girl: A lonely mute girl who is in fact the last letter written by the Ebony queen to the Marble king. It was bestowed with magic so it could  assume the form of a girl, ensuring that the message would surely be delivered. The problem is, as the girl/letter spend more time being a human, she begins to acquire her own conscience and starts to desire staying a human. But what will she do? Deliver the message and cease to exist as a human? Or stay as a human and live forever in shame for having not fulfilled her destiny?
3) The sorcerer bird: Originally a sorcerer from the Kingdom of Ebony. Once she realized that everyone from the Ebony Kingdom was being hunted down and killed, she decided to create a potion which would change her appearance, so that she would pass off as a citizen from the Marble Kingdom. But a wrong ingredient (a bird's feather) transformed her into an abomination, and she had to hide from society. She decides to help the letter/messenger fulfill her destiny.

I love the Messenger Girl and Sorceror Bird's design! The Nameless Soldier does look a bit generic in my opinion.

Those are far out backstories! The letter girl is especially intriguing, I thought she was a little too pale, heheh.
