Thanks - truly pleased you approve - and yes, the reflection's the 'redeeming' element (if there is one) . . .

redemption is tricksy ... I sometimes feel art absolves, more than it redeems. <3

Thanks - and I'm glad you like it - have been wrestling with balancing the elements of the composition as per the crop / height-width proportions . . .

Your experimentations and attentions are paying off as far as I can see.
However, for artists, that seems like a lifetime adventure

Thank you! - glad you think so. Beyond a certain point it's hard to know. As you say / imply: it's a continuing thing, an evolution of taste and judgment - which, of course, doesn't guarantee a superior result!
And thanks so very much for your continuing support: the comments and s! - I'm truly grateful!

Thank you for your interest: I do write poetry, usually long (poetry-book length) sequences with a loose narrative trhread -- although each poem can 'stand alone' i e, as a lyric on its own.
And in fact one such sequence was published this summer:

The ocver is by a dA member, a Romanian artist whom I much admire 'sirbnaiv', based on one of my photos:

Again, thanks for all your interest and attention to me, all your interesting comments -- I love receiving them!

Thank you -- pleased you mention the poem.
As for my 'rear', through the years it's been frequently the subject of comment, but never so genteel a comment as yours!

I do have a Facebook account, but I seldom sign on because the pages load extremely slowly, sometimes fail to load at all -- not sure why, if it's the version of IE I'm using or what -- but I sorta gave up on it.

Well, be it slow or not, we simply must keep in touch. I can see a plethora of ideas swimming in my head of what we could do. Be it anything! : )

It took a few reads to get it but the poem is now in me. There is an immediacy in your imagery that's not there in the poems. But if one is willing to take the time, the two of them together become a most beautiful pairing, fit for the most sumptuously made cama matrimonial.

I want you. In the collection. You are a living breathing work of art with few if any peers in the world of self-portraiture. I just hope I can do you justice. I think I can. And I think you and T together will rock the fucking kasbah. (is it OK to say fuck here?)

First I have to say I like the pose, especially with the hands with the fingers crossed.. Great use of the reflection as well. The smaller size gives the image some depth.

I read an article recently regarding the fact that of all types of creatures, only a few of the 'higher' mammals can recognize their own reflection, so I was keen to see if I were among them. I'm pleased to report that indeed I am, that I knew it was I -- and not Alice through the Looking Glass -- even before you confirmed it! However, thanks very much -- and as always, for your generous encouragement, especially nice at the start of a new year!

I forgot: European magpies too -- and, possibly, pigeons. Dogs, cats, and human infants (up to approx 18 months) don't 'get it'.

Once again you stun me and leave me awed by your talent and skill in both photography and poetry...you are a renaissance man I think...a master of many arts...a graceful man and a beautiful soul! And I couldn't agree more with FrodoPrime...your hands...among other things here...are exquisite!

Thank you -- you're always so superlatively kind to me. I can't imagine I'll ever again experience an episode of low self-esteem. And I'm pleased you mention the poem. Would you consider setting it to music? do you do that sort of thing?

Sadly the only musical ability I have begins and ends with turning on my stereo.
You know you are one of my very favourite artists here...you never cease to move me with your images...you never cease to leave me awed by your skill and talent...and yes...your physical beauty. It is a pleasure for me to return...even though it is only in so small a way as leaving a comment here and there...the thrill and joy I experience viewing your work. I consider it an honour knowing you.
