Operation desert storm, we were deployed to kill the terrorist who had wrecked havoc in our country. We were suppose to kill the bad guys, the demons.But when we arrived here we found no demons, just some ordinary folks trying to survive this immense war that was caused because of the power struggle between political and religious groups. I had to kill countless innocent people in the name of servitude towards my country. I sometimes wonder have I become the monster that I had come here to slay.Related content

I don't really know what to say to this. But then, there is no way to beat terrorism with military might and those in power (or at least those counseling them) know it. So the real reason for the war is always another. Fighting terrorism with military means is the ultimate of asymmetrical warfare. Asymmetric wars are notoriously difficult to win. I think the Romans were the last ones to do so (at least in the west) and we feel the results even today.
