I cannot express just how much fun this was to do... finally got to scratch that itch after months of drawing for everyone but myself.Okay, time to get this thing started!
First up, Illithids!
Now, how to show an illithid as one of the scariestest things you'll ever come across in the underdark? Β Why, have him feed on drow of course.
Was going for Methil El-Viddenvelp at first (hence his eyes)... but then i decided to just go with a general illithid to start off my realms series.
Next on the list, Athrogate!

Illithids and Beholders were always the most interesting (and simultaneously the most terrifying) enemies in Dungeons and Dragons, to me. Love it!

Yeeeeessssss I loved reading about them in the prequels for drizzt's books!! I really like how smooth it's skin looks here and the detail of it's clothing. That poor drow though... But hey, it's either that or rubbing the body of that big illithid brain leader thing.Β

Every time i need to picture an illithid in my head, i ALWAYS go back to the prequel books.

Β The underdark is such a great place and I really liked the prequels because you got to read about all the strange going ons there.Β
Β Β The elder brain scenes were troubling for me, especially since drizzt and some poor nameless dark elf were more or less naked while rubbing the thing. :/ That's what they get for having skilled hands I guess :- )Β
