a ship or shipping is when you take to characters from any show or franquice and want them to become a couple
There's no much rules about it, you can ship enemies, friends, people who don't even know each other and even canonical couples like this one, you can even ship character from diferent universe like, idk, batman and iron man, yeah you can ship lgbt couples, there's people who does it even when the characters are canonicaly hetero. The ships usually have a name which is a fusion of theΒ both character's name, for example "sonamy"= SONic the hedgehog and AMY the hedgehog, but you can get original with the ships' name like in a shoe named RWBY there's two characters named Yang Xia Long and Blake Belladona which ship name is "BumbbleBee"
Sometimes people, like me, ships characters with much differents between them because is funny imagine what kind of interaction would they have
