Description I'm not afraid of snakes...I love them.I used to have one as a pet
I'm not afraid of spiders...My friend let me play with his pet tarantula
I'm not afraid of closed spaces...I like things cozy
I'm not afraid of water...Why should I?
I'm not afraid of light...I'm no vampire

But I do have this abnormal fear of blood tests... Four years ago, I was hospitalized... Every hour they had to take blood tests from me ... I don't know what's wrong with my veins...they wouldn't give any blood. They pricked me over and over again, only to be disappointed in the end. That means every hour I was pricked at least 6 times. I tried to forget the pain by trying to fall asleep...When I do, they usually wake me an hour later so they could try to
draw my blood. Again. And over and over again for the next few days, I had to endure all of that...

Just yesterday, I had to take a blood test for the medical examination...Again they couldn't draw blood. They put a tourniquet on me to trap the blood, but still, they couldn't draw anything. Memories flooded back in.I thought I would die... Now I have to go back there again tomorrow...To let them try to draw blood from me again.Ugh.

Maybe I don't have blood at all.

Oh, yeah - I have veins like garden hoses. If they miss, I have no mercy.

Whoops, I meant "fear," not "rear."

Aww, that sux. T-T I actually developed a character (not on DA) who is trypanophobic a similar reason. Your rear is not abnormal. Fear of needles for any reason is common. You are not alone in this world of needles. |=[[[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]---------
Anyhoo, I love the pic, very dramatic.

Wow that's gotta suck and painful D:. That kind of happened to my friend she had those invisible vein thingies and the kept sticking those things in her skin. We went to, I think, two places to do this and finally she got a different doctor who knew how to do that.

this is really good. don't worry, hon, i'm in the same boat you are - when i was little, i ended up in the hospital and had to have blood work done. let's just say it was a terrifying experience at 4 years old. needless to say, i can relate

Ah, this caught my eyes the first time I saw its preview.. I just knew it's something meaningful.

Apart from the fear, that's some really intense abnormality, what happened really? How could your blood can't be drawed out.. But you still feel the pain right? This is my first time seeing such a case... Maybe you should consult an expert relating to this state of yours?

Your comments really make my day...^^
Surprisingly, my doctor said my case isn't that rare at all... A lot of people experience it...

Router-Jax In reply to gine-10 [2006-08-08 10:51:01 +0000 UTC]

It did? Oh.. Haha.

Not rare? But how come.. And considering that, have you recovered from it?

A lot of people.. Meh, I haven't seen any yet. Apart from you.

My mom(the one here in DA, also suffers from it... )
I really thought I was alone... Turns out I'm not...
And I don't think you can recover from it... It's a trait... Just like AHD and diseases like that...

Mmh, I also own a schizophrenia bloodline, as well as diabetes and hypertension. And so I know of what you said very well. Well we got to live with it.

Really?
I guess so...^^

Router-Jax In reply to gine-10 [2006-08-17 08:38:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, though the schizophrenia bloodline.. Only I own it, of how I and my mother know so far. And it's not like the others know we have it too.

Sigh, all these makes us appreciate life better. Can't complain can't complain.

I never really understood schizophrenia... HOw does it affect you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Router-Jax In reply to gine-10 [2006-08-20 13:47:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it is.
By the way, nevermind since schizophrenia really is the least understood among mental disorders. Well, at the very most they know, schizophrenia is when your right brain(which emphasizes on imagination) is activated so much more in the price of getting your left brain(which emphasizes on logic) activated so much less compared to the right brain. In my own words, is what I'd call "brain capabilities distribution disorder"

As said, with the left brain disabled, our logic don't excel as much as how other people do. For one, I can only do junior high mathematics.. Im in trouble since no matter how much I study maths in high school, I only understand very little of it.

As for the hyper activation of the right brain, we hallucinate and experience delusion times as much. And tend to have better understandings on things that require unworldly logic.

To put it simply.. It's like that. There's much more you can read over here:- [link] It's more of a hell compared to a gift at first, only turned the other way round until Im partly cured of it, which was around March of this year. Now that had happened, I feel really greateful.

gine-10 In reply to Router-Jax [2006-08-26 00:24:37 +0000 UTC]

You can cure yourself?
Wow.... I know someone who has a disorder almost like that...
But he makes it sound like hell...
He's not an IRL friend, but from reading his messages and journals, he always sounds upset...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Router-Jax In reply to gine-10 [2006-09-18 12:26:55 +0000 UTC]

Well.. Not exactly cure. You know how you feel better when you know things more? Well all I did was just that.. It's still bad, though not as worse and at least there are improvements. Though, I only found that out this year, the years before that I used to suffer like hell. To tell it's nowhere different from that someone you mentioned.

I believe I've studied enough of it that Im able to diagnose a bit of it. Well to put it at the simplest, people who suffer from this disorder is divided into two, depends on how they used to live their live perviously; passive or aggressive in behaviour as a major. Im the passive type- I tend to seclude and isolate myself from the society since early teen, which was when I started suffering from it. Passive types tend to back down and refuse to take actions, and what has led them to this would most probably be being distressed while having a confused beliefs in absolute restrictions-like religious restrictions for one.

As for aggressive types, it's usually those who aren't restricted by anything- just that they're distressed by the environmental factors. They tend to act violent and are the ones who tend to receive treatments compared to passive types- since they're more open than us by most. What the drugs do for this is only calming the aggression down. But they still get confused in the meanwhile. Some patients who lose control stop taking their treatments intentionally because they felt threatened by it- because it forces them to back down.

Problems also occur as regular consumers somehow blocked from their source of calming treatment as they're used to consuming those. And when they're missing they'll go much crazier- like an addict.

For that, Im glad I never do receive any treatment for it. It may be a simpler way of overcoming it, but the risk is higher. And there are some things that can pierce through the drug's effects. Many things.

Being a patient of it myself, I feel poor for the others who suffer the same. I hear they're treated badly overseas...
