I've read that conquerors from Viking lands tends to establish themselves and take/embrace part of the conquered culture.
They tend to have long beards (they loved it) but for the people which had the heritage from Rome it was "new".

What a beautiful picture <3 absolut the most beautifulest i have seen so far this autumn. I love how this photo is glowing of how wonderful autumn can be. I was having this picture as an inspiration for a comic. I was drawing a part i really liked, i just make comics for fun and this picture was really giving me inspiration. And you write (My images may not be reproduced or used in any form without my written permission) I feel that I have to tell you i was use this picture as an inspiration.

Kann mich nur den Vorkommentatoren anschließen - diese Aufnahme ist wirkt wie ein Ausschnitt einer romantischen, mittelalterlichen Märchenkullisse. Ebenso hast du die schöne herbstliche Stimmung mit ihren goldenen Farben wunderbar eingefangen
Muss allerdings beschämt zugeben, dass meine Kenntnisse besonderer Orte in Deutschland sehr bescheiden sind und ich daher erst nachlesen musste, wo sich die Eltzer Burg befindet

Wobei, da fällt mir eine Kleinigkeit ein.... Ich war ja 2011 bei der Bundesgartenschau in Koblenz und bin ja mit der Seilbahn über einen Fluss gefahren, wo ich es bereits aus der Ferne gesehen habe. Aber eben nicht im Rahmen einer richtigen Besichtigung - und das lässt sich ja womöglich im nächsten Sommer ja nachholen

The placement of the castle is directly in the center, making it the focal point of the picture. The leaves of the trees are of many different values, bringing out colour to the eye. The lighting from the sun is bright on the very tip of the castle, and not too harsh in the sky. The use of shadows was executed very tastefully, and the dark fading around the picture adds a nice touch. The picture is great as are the edited effects. Very nicely done.
