I'm new to premiums and all, so I'm not sure how to use these: the link, note me, ect. things at the top; how do I link them to specific pages?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to Etsoree [2011-12-07 16:25:05 +0000 UTC]

Those links usually can be found at the "Skin Header" section.
Links always have the same structure YOUR VISIBLE TEXT

The url is the address you can find at the top of your browser, starting with [link] If you wanted to link to your profile it would be [link] so for any other page just look up that address and add it between the ".
Your visible text can be anything you want.

Example:
Your Profile would get you this result Your Profile

Hope that helps

You will need a Premium Membership first, otherwise you can't apply CSS to your journals.

Memnalar In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2011-03-01 20:40:19 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. It works very well. [link]

By way of feedback, I tried using the divider tags, but the dividers overlapped the text here and there, and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. It may very well have been on my end, browser issues, etc., but I thought I'd mention it.

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to Memnalar [2011-03-01 20:46:04 +0000 UTC]

Hm, just tested it and it works without problems for me. What browser are you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memnalar In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2011-03-01 20:51:53 +0000 UTC]

Firefox 3.6.13 on a Mac running OS 10.6.6.

It's an anomaly, and probably rare, or just something I borked when writing up the journal. Unless the new journal editing system has something to do with it, but I doubt that.

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to Memnalar [2011-03-02 14:18:06 +0000 UTC]

Can you send me a copy of the way you have used it, with text around and everything so that i could check that? Should work for you as well, especially when using FF.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Memnalar In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2011-03-02 16:36:30 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I have more info. It looks like the weirdness only happens in the journal view on my main page. When I click to view it under the Journal tab, it looks fine. Any ideas?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to Memnalar [2011-03-04 16:01:37 +0000 UTC]

Hm, either dA changed its code structure or i messed something up - even though i can't see what. Anyway, i see what you mean now. Will work on a fix and note you the changes then.

Seems like i didn't check all combinations of those extra code snippets before.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memnalar In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2011-03-04 16:13:05 +0000 UTC]

Groovy.

I've also noticed that the CSS doesn't accept link tags, at least not in my case. Every time I tried to do

Anyway, thanks for checking it out. It's a very cool skin.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to Memnalar [2011-03-04 16:40:32 +0000 UTC]

Link tags are working for me, even in the messed up version. Added one to the test journal, maybe check if they work for you there as well?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Memnalar In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2011-03-02 16:33:38 +0000 UTC]

Here you go: [link]

What I did was insert the divider code between each paragraph of dummy text. In the preview, it looks fine. In the actual journal, I get an additional horizontal line before the divider graphic, which pushes the graphic down into the next paragraph.

I hope it shows up on your end.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blitzgun In reply to GinkgoWerkstatt [2009-12-30 20:06:12 +0000 UTC]

Change them.. I think?

They're blank links on my DA journal.

Sorry to bother you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GinkgoWerkstatt In reply to blitzgun [2009-12-30 20:10:11 +0000 UTC]

Ah, well you have to click the "option" tab at the journal page. There in the header you can find those links and change them.
If that is too confusing look at this [link] - the steps are the same

Hope it helps

It's no talent you need to create something like that. I just try to use work different all the time and play around a lot. Most of my layouts are lucky accidents

You just have to try new things
