Description
This is a lineart I did in 2011(?), and I have to edit it because of some mistakes.
I colored it recently. 
Yep, I know, the trees background doesn't suit the picture. OTL
Oh well I'll just keep on practicing coloring.
By the way, the title is inspired by Eraserheads' song, "With A Smile". I was listening to it when I thought of the idea. :3

Awwww, this is so adorable. I mean them as little kids, all together is adorable. I do like how you got them closely to each other so it seems like they are the best of friends. As...well in the anime some of them aren't that close. But anyways the shading here for their clothes is pretty nice. Like some of it fades away and most of it is stuck there. Even on sasuke's clothes, I like how I can see the shading even though his clothes is a dark blue.
The stairs there do look nice as its not all white and clean. Putting that little dirt or different colors on that makes it look quite legit to show....well those stairs have been there for a while. And lastly the background, I like it. Maybe the big brown tree is unecessary but the other trees in the background does look like they belong there. Maybe its just the light part of the tree that should be darker, that would probably do it.

Yep, I changed the brightness of the stairs and applied some color burn, because it's too light that it almost blends with the other light colors (like the characters' skin color, Naruto's shirt, etc.)
For the light part of the tree, it's my first time to use the brush in blend mode in SAI so I didn't expect the result.
For your question, I usually do the base colors, color dodge & burn, other effects (such as changing the color tone, adding textures, etc.) and watermark in photoshop. Though some of these can also be done in SAI, I'm more used to do them in PS (because I've been using PS for a longer time than SAI).
