Okay, so it needs a better title... BUT ANYWAY. First official piece of Life on Mars fan art ey? Yeah? I think so... Huh. That's weird, because honestly, I like it more than Doctor Who and I've liked it FOR A WHILE. Srsly, HUGE fan since 2007.GASP.
I know.
Crazy.
Just a SMIDGE more, but still, more.
Inspired to do this today once I saw the ending of the American 'Life on Mars' which was total bullsh*t. They missed the point of EVERYTHING and it was written HORRIFICALLY badly. I mean wow. Just wow. I didn't think TV could get THAT BAD.
SO, I watched some of the good ol' stuff and had a rant with *Ferntree about the American version and LO, inspiration was born.

I actually didn't realize this was a full Life on Mars reference.
I thought the little girl was from 'Forest of the Dead' and 'Silence in the Library'

That. Is. Gorgeous. So alive it's breathing. The shadows, the fold in Sam's shirt, the shading, perfect. Even more, it's a perfect set-up as a tableau; Sam's eternally messing with a radio to 'tune in' to the real world, and that creepy little girl scares the #^%@$# out of him AND me. Maybe it's just her clown... But seriously, you did brilliantly here. You captured his intentsity and the mood of the show itself, which is epic WIN. I can't say enough good things about your work.

Oh, just have to comment on this. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Plus, obviously v.current with the end of the LOM/A2A genre... so sad. You've really hit the nail on the head with the darkness and mood of the series- and as for the American version, I didn't even bother giving it a watch. Saw the attempt at the Red Dwarf yank version and it was horrific enough to deter me forever...

I adore Life On Mars (and Ashes to Ashes). Admittedly I haven't seen the Us version, but it supposedly was nothing compared to the awesome that is John Simm armed with 70's music xD

Oh man, that's so awesome. I really think you captured the mood really well in this. Seriously, all of the colours really remind me of the programme. I especially like his shirt... it just looks really cool.

This is awesome, everything from the colours, to the pose, to the composition is very inkeeping with the show.
On a side note, that little girl and her doll was always something I found rather fearful as a kid, as you don't really know what it means.

Great job! As usual,but I got a problem with the shades of the neck and the face...the face seems too dark or the neck too bright. I mean,that's just for me,I don't know...
