So cool, and, as a plus, a very funny tutorial! :'D

I like the hot pink colour of your demo cube!

This was exactly what I needed!
I am attempting my first needle felted piece for one of my SAR K9 teammates. His first K9 partner passed away last year, and I have a couple bags of her fur, that I was going to attempt to make a little figure of her from. My first attempt... a dismal failure. It's just not felting up decently. It's all warped with big lumps and bits that don't lay right and that have felted up into pads that lay wrong and all sorts of awful.
I think I am going to use your polyfil core technique though, and try making the main body and then felting the dog hair onto that, and see if it goes any better. At the very least, I can learn what I'm doing wrong on the polyfil, which I can get a heck of a lot more of than my very limited supply of dog hair from a passed pooch!
Thanks tons for this!!!

Wow.. You must've had so much patience to put this all together! Taking all the pictures in between felting. Writing descriptions for all of them. DX It's a lot of work! Makes me want to find my needles and give it another shot. XD;;

I haven't forgotten *pokepoke* 36 is the biggest and 40 the smallest. I use my 38 most often though.
It is quite late, you should go to bed. *zzzzzz*

I'll get more posted on the weekend. :3 If you want, I'll keep doing the step-by-step. XD;;
It is really necessary to have a whole bunch of different needles, or is just having a few enough? D:

*a week later* x_x sorry!
I have sizes from 32 to 42, I use all of them except for the 36 - which was, strangely enough, the only needle I had when I started. I completed Optimus with a 36 needle - it can be done, but it makes it so much easier with all the other sizes.
If you want, I would still like to see the step-by-step. But only if you want!

It does. I am a rather visual learner and seeing the steps is what helps a lot.
So definitely kudos and cookies to you.

That looks pretty thick. How dense are your needlefelts? They seem a lot more defined (and thus I assume denser) than most needlefelts out there...
Also: good job. Needlefelt tutorials are awesome.

Yeah... wow. That's so much effort. I made my Mew with relatively dense felting, which took far too long. XD Personally, I don't felt densely, for the most part; it seems to come naturally though as I make bigger objects. Which... well, anyways, I wish it was the other way around. Would've saved me a lot of time.
Yeah. Well, it's hard to experience the magic of needlefelting until you've seen it yourself. (As paltry as my first instructions were. Luckily, it's quite easy to improve on the fly with needlefelts.)

"it's probably stuck to the bottom of something fuzzy"
Yes!! XD I lose more toys that way! And yes, there is far more energon/oil/wine around here than weapons ;;^^ But always with responsibility!
