i loved this concept, i wonder what the heck happened during the planning and making of the Cataclysm storyline, this model (and concept) is so cool, yet they used it like two times in the game, one for a cool but ridicoulous quest and another... not even in Cataclysm xD

I've been reading Dawn of the Aspects, and thought "I wonder what Deathwing looked like in human form.." (I missed a lot of Cata content!)

You know, I'm looking at this incredible art of one of my favorite characters in video games and I'm wondering... Why did we never get a raid (or even a dungeon) fight with Deathwing in his human form? It was a great model that was only ever used once in game as far as I recall, and all that was... was a "joke" questline (not knocking the "I'm gonna punch Deathwing in the Face" questline, I loved it). They really should have utilized his human form a lot more.

This never ended up appearing lol. It was in the tall tales, but that's it. He never truly appeared in this form.

No he appeared in human form just once in the questline of Twilight Highlands. Just for a tiny bit, but he didn't look as cool as he did in this picture, he mostly just looked like a bald guy with a metal jaw.

Uhm... I did it on my ally shammy and my ally hunter. Do all the quests you can in twilight highlands. It takes place in the far top-left corner of the map? But there are a lot of quests that lead up to it.

I did them all too, he never did that. He appears to Alexstrazsa's summons, but he stays in dragon form.

Oh... Where did I see him then... You can try looking up deathwing on WoWhead and look for the name of him that says humanoid. Then look at the comments or something else to find where he is.

It was in beta. Cataclysm beta, that is. In the beta, during that Twilight Highlands quest-chain, Deathwing did, indeed, appear in his human form when he first comes to meet Alexstrasza... there was also a short "duel" type thing with them both in their human forms, using magic at one another, but in live they changed this. In the live version of Cataclysm, Deathwing stays in his dragon form throughout that entire quest-chain, and he and Alexstrasza immediately take to the skies, fighting as dragons; they never actually fight each other in their human forms. It's a shame, really... In my opinion, the version that was in beta was much better. I don't know they scrapped it in favor of the version that made it to live. =/

Hmm... Well, there is a quest chain in the Badlands where you see him in his human form, so maybe that's what you're thinking of? Meh, doesn't matter, anyway, I guess.
