I'm trying to improve on my backgrounds.. so what do you do when you do a speed paint? Do you use a reference or is it just purely your imagination?
Are backgrounds just something I have to consistently practice?

Uhh i sometimes use a Reference sometimes i do it form memory but use a reference for starting out to get the feel for things and then just practice as much as you can ^-^ Practice is the best way to improve on anything ^-^
