Cartoon horsebats cannot actually be your waifus-----
Some possible magic abilities that I've been mulling over:
Lightning Spear -> Hurls a bolt of lightning. Accuracy and range can be improved by channeling spell through a suitably shaped and conductive weapon
Dragonbreath -> Ancient elemental spell passed down the Royal Guard lines for generations. Fire is the most commonly taught element, but Ice and other more obscure variants exist
Swarm -> Turn into a swarm of winged critters to avoid attacks and pass through narrow spaces. A signature spell of Lunar Guards

She speaks in Dragon Tongue! She is dragon born! Well actually that sort of thing would be possible. Use a kinetic spell with dragon breath and you get a shout spell. Interesting. I will think on this magic and become the next Starswirl.

I just love the lightning effects and it's really well made. I'm just not feeling the design on this one. But overall you're doing awesome with your art!!!

Well it makes sense, Ice Arrows are afterall Canon, why wouldn't there be other elemental types of attacks?

Phase Disruptor -> Launch an antimatter projectile wreathed in a psychic bonding field.Β Splashes out upon impact, damaging nearby enemies.

Lightening spears have been pretty much apart of your images since at least when you first drew Cloud Kicker, and elemental breath is pretty kickass but I imagine that would be something veterans or elites would be capable of rather than rank and file guardsponies.
The cloud of bats thing I'd be iffy about, but it'd still be pretty cool nonetheless.
But oh God the expression on Florence's face is priceless...

Dragoon! :D Just like the "job"/class from the FF Tactics series! No way you didn't intend a reference to that. Or like in FF9 Freya is a Dragoon too. I'm a fan of the job system and all those different jobs and abilities ^^
From Dragoon, you can ascend to Templar, the master spear job!Β :D
Anyway, masterful artwork as always ^^ You could make comics out of that drawing talent!

Why not? XD The whole "waifu" thing is a form of spirituality for some, so I'm sure at least someone out there is into "horsebats"... XD And I sure wouldn't have a problem with it :)
And again I love those details in the description, about your personal "lore", I know how that feels so much ^^ I was surprised to see "elemental" for a dragon-type skill, but after all, "more obscure variants" can include the "almighty" type tooΒ :)

It would be stupendous if you felt inclined to draw something similar with Spike rather than an OC. In this old but good story , a dragon asked Celestia to give him a lightning spear.
