I'm not proficient with how watercolors look and what techniques are used but this one really impresses me with its texture. Did you use any other media to enhance it? The cross-hatch effect really gives it depth and character.

The texture and cross hatching comes from colored pencil. First I used watercolor, let it dry and then come back with colored pencil and cross hatch and add color in areas to give it a subtle color change to one area to another.
The great thing about colored pencil on top of watercolor is that it is really easy to edit it this way because watercolor can be a very unpredictable medium and combining pencil with it gives more control back to the artist.

I see. But don't you sometimes damage the paint layer with the pencil? I've noticed that colored pencils always come harder than the softest graphite pencils and it worries me that they might leave scratches on the paint.

Well it depends on your materials. The paper I was using was a Rives BFK which is a very soft paper and the colored pencils were prismacolor which are very soft. If you had a hard crappy colored pencil then yes I would think that it would scratch the paper and paint.

I'll definitely keep that in mind! Planning on experimenting with watercolor, too. I've been seeking out and admiring a lot of watercolors recently which has sparkled a very itching curiosity about it.

No I can't but I can give you some tips. Just practice a lot with cheap watercolors, and good brush.
Holbein watercolors are pretty expensive I advise you to try out van goh paints first they're cheaper but still really good.
