My first stamp. Because sometimes art school doesn't happen.( and other times art class can't be tolerated. X3 )

Wow, this got a lot of faves/views! Now That I look back on it, it's an ugly stamp. xD I think there are prettier self taught stamps out there now. I should really update this thing. =O

I was self taught to draw and it started with stick figures hehe

If you really think about it none of us here are completely self tought because you have to have an inspirational cartoon or person to look up to
for instance mines for years now has always been Pokemon and it's wonderful art style and iv also taken inspiration from a lot of the people iv met here on DA

Such an old comment but I'll bump it anyway.
Self-taught is defined as "having acquired knowledge or skill on one's own initiative rather than through formal instruction or training."
Whilst you aren't exactly wrong, technically, those are just inspirations.
For example, my inspiration is Honyarara (do not click if you don't like sexual content. She's a Boys' Love artist) but I never learned from her. I took it upon myself to learn anatomy and everything else that I know.
Like how I'm self-taught because I home-school myself (no parents or tutor).
Self-taught is without a teacher. If you did it on your own accord (despite having an inspiration (like Pokemon)), you're self-taught.

I'm not entirely self taught. I learned the fundamentals and then just did my own thing.

To be honest though, with all the resources online, you can be a self taught artist and still learn all the fundamentals of art as long as you find good resources to work off of. Other times, you still need to take classes for other things like life drawing, haha

I did have some art classes.... But I don't remember what I learned and if it had any effect on my art. It was years ago and even after that I drew stick figures XD

I am proud to say I am a legit self-taught artist. No books and tutorials for me! I learnt to draw HORSES by sitting outside andwatching the neighor's gelding...I just drew what I saw (it helped that he was a lazy fucker and never moved XD) so I never drew boxy shapes
