Leaving Earth

The stars came down
Raining down
Like angry bullets
From some god above.

As I sit and kneel
In the grass,
Rain pelting my skin
To wash away the pain.

The lighting stirking trees
The world going up in flames
An unpredicted
Armageddon.

Screaming
For salvation
Or for forgiveness
To long past to do anything
But watch it all melt away.

Again,
Waking up
In a sea of sweat
In another life.

Passed on from world to world
An endless sea of destruction
Following the path
I fall through.

Watch as with each situation
Presented to my
Ghost of a soul
Ends the same.

The people I thought
Might ask me to stay
Push me out
Through pain
And death.

Sturggling for a purpose,
For a meaning outside this
Endless search
For life.

Is it too much to ask,
For things to make sense,
Like they used to
When I was in one place.

Now the move's involuntary
From world to world
Yet never truly leaving Earth,
No matter how much I wish I could.
