I like John Smith so I'm afraid to watch the sequel.
Now, I finished drawing this series except the characters in the movies which I have never seen. I cannot draw anymore at the moment. If I watch the rest of the movies in the future, then I will start drawing again. Β I did some pics of the films I saw recently!
I have absolutely no plans to do boys version, by the way. I'm sorry if you expected it.

Would you consider drawing Nakoma in Thomas's clothes? I know they aren't a couple in canon, but they do have the connection of being the primary (human) sidekicks to the hero and heroine.Β

Wow, she looks so cool!! Though she actually did marry John Rolfe in real life and she never had a thing with John Smith, she was just a little girl and he was a grown man :/

As for the sequel, I liked it b/c it was more historically accurate (I almost prefer it to the first one).

Stay as far away from the sequel as you possibly can.

Even Disney has more or less disavowed the sequel. In the parks, on the rare occasions when they have the "princes" out with their princesses, it's John Smith, not John Rowlfe.

Well Pocahontas 2 was a straight-to-video sequel released three years after the original... it would be kind of a weird move to replace John Smith with Rolfe because there aren't that many people who have seen both of these films. Folks would just say:
"Who's that with Pocahontas, Mommy?
"Sorry dear, I have no idea."

True, but the Tinkerbell movies are also straight-to-video, and those new fairies are all over the dang place. And yet I can't meet the Blue Fairy or Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather at all in Disney World.

Hmm... I guess that those Tinkerbell movies are just more popular and well known (not to mention that there's more than one of them). As for the rest, I'm not so sure.

If you haven't watched the newest one (Tinkerbell & The Pirate Fairy), it's worth a rent at the very least. Tom "Loki" Hiddleston sings about how awesome it is to be a pirate. There's no part of that sentence that I didn't like!

Sequel was okay. It had some perks to it but wasn't the best. In someways, it does tell the truth behind the real Pocahontas story because in the true story of Pocahontas, well she did fell in love with John Smith first, they did fake his death to keep em a part so she ends up falling for the other dude. Like Namitha said in the true story, she never had that kind of relationship with Smith cause of their age. It was more of a guardian and one to protect type thing.Β
However, I agree the sequel does suck when you compare it to the first movie, when it comes to character development, art style and time and effort. And shoot who really does care about what happen in the true story, as Disney never sticks to the true story for good reasons, least in my opinion.
