After he becomes a paladin.
There's a lot of different depictions of him, actually. SNES Cecil looks different than the remakes, wich are also different from Dissidia, and how Yoshitaka Amano draws him.
So I pretty much did a mish mash of everything, whatever I liked the most, or whatever fits the most.

I've seeing some people complain that Cecil should've stayed as Dark Knight, because Dark Knight is more badass while Paladin looks girly...
Um... From what i see, Dark Knight Cecil was a wussy and emo-edgelord, always regretted his actions instead of fixing them.
Paladin Cecil, on the other hand, is a badass, because he became much stronger as a person and was ready to face his mistakes from the past.
