I've been trying to fill old projects with actual art lately. One of those I occasionally draw for is an old Pokémon game concept, Pokémon Predator & Prey Versions. One of the original ideas I had for the game was the idea of subspecies, which were Pokémon closely related to existing Pokémon in the actual games. Many years later, the actual games had the same idea in Sun & Moon Versions as Alolan Forms. However, my subspecies were given different, unique nicknames for the region instead of, say, calling it "Halask Riolu" for instance, we get "Skiftolu".

And speaking of which: This is Skiftolu, the Emanation Pokémon -- It is the regional variant for Riolu and is based upon an Alaskan Malamute in design. His colorations are intended to give off a snowpants vibe. He also has two spots on his nose and possesses heterochromia iridium, AKA differently colored eyes (one brown and one blue), which is really pretty common in Malamutes (my uncle used to raise sled dogs, I've spent quite a bit of time around them in my youth). As I recall he had a pretty fluffy ruff around his neck too, to represent a scarf.
