Cool , icy , fresh , sugary strawberries

strawberrieeesWhat do you think about the photo ? Is it a good one ? I think that it's very suggestive and it has a lot of message in it ... I mean , they are red , juicy , saturated with sugar ... what more would you want more
I'm kidding ... but what should I keep in mind the next time I photograph photos similar to this one ?

I love strawberries! I like the fact they don't look placed or planned out for the photo. The natural feel is almost always more appealing than the planned looked.
Like it was already said, I think the lighting is a bit dark. When I think of strawberries I think of bright red juicy goodness. Also, personally, I would have drained the strawberries and sprinkled them with sugar right before or as I was taking the photo. Perhaps you could have paper towel dabbed some dry? I think if the sugar looked a little more dry it would have popped a little more. Given a little sparkle maybe?
The only other suggesiton I have is perhaps if you had gotten down lower and focused on one of the strawberries more than the most. I think it would have made the focus a bit more on how appealing they are than a large amount of them.
Other than that, like I said the arrangement is nice. I like that you thought of putting sugar on them and that they are split and not whole. (Maybe ONE whole one as the focused piece could have worked?), but that's not so much important. Nice work. I was some strawberry shortcake now!

I like the idea, but I think the photo itself needs work. The lighting is dark, and it doesn't really help to portray succulent, red strawberries. Photo editing on programs like photoshop really help, if you don't do so already.
