Description
This is a two part top. Underneath is an orange linen tank top with pin tuck detailing at center front and button closure up the side. The buttons are recycled and mismatched white shell.

The top has 1/2 inch straps which mean that it does not pass dress code at my school. Therefore (and because I had been toying with the idea for a week or two) I made "detachable sleeves". In essence this is actually more like a miniature jacket but its purpose is to serve as shoulder covering. The material for the sleeves is cotton bought as a sarong in Thailand by my mother. It has a great batik pattern and you can see that I used the edge of the pattern around the sleeves and across the back.

The sleeves are held on by means of two buttons which are sewed on to the front, just at the base of the straps, so that when I do not have the sleeves on they look like decoration.

I pattern I made both the sleeves and the top from is the same as I used here: [link] It is a pattern that I drafted a long time ago and keep re-using because it fits so well.
