Description I just can't stop drawing birds!

... I guess that's a good thing though

Here we have, left to right, Arthur and Dustin, who are son and father. However, there was a battle when Arthur was very young. His mother was shot down while Dustin escaped, thinking the two of them gone forever. Arthur lives, and after a long series of events, eventually does meet back up with his father. They have no idea of their relationship though, and start to develop a fresh father-son thing out of that

For more detail, view this little journal entry I made some time ago: [link]

... I think I'm getting better at getting those beaks looking right...

i wouldn't call these paaserines 'anthro' tho, its like calling those 280 million year old therapsid Inostrancevia a saber-tooth cat, even tho (the predator did have long sabers) the similarites can be clear as day, but still, those 2 critters are EXTREMELY distantly related! Just a heads up!

Thanks I'm happy they made you remember something special to you. Did your story have similar characters?

It was sort of Mulan related. I think they were Blue Jays. The father went to war and the daughter followed soon after leaving her mother. They meet up, but the daughter is disguised and after they are going to the field the father finds out that his hometown was attacked and everyone in it was destroyed. He realizes he has lost his daughter and wife. To make a long story short, she drops her disguise in the end and they are reunited. I think I'll probably rewrite it :3

Oh, that sounds wonderful I'm a big fan of family being lost and re-united after so long or after such events. It would be great if you re-wrote it

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the story snippet so far. I'm really trying to flesh it out some more, and pictures will help with that ^^

Thanks! I tend to spread them too wide across the face, I think. And make them all look very similar.

some birds have beaks covering half of their faces (like toucans, or even american eagles have a pretty big beak).

Hmm, doing something like that where the beak is exceptionally large or small would probably be good practice in terms of drawing them in general. This gives me an idea...

I'm seeing that ^^ They're just so fun and stylish - there's a lot of design space to play around with.

Heh, I haven't seen that emoticon before. It's a good one
