Amazing capture.
I have on order the Hoya ND8 HMC filter.
Would that give me similar results to this?

Yep, should do, set the camera on a low ISO and at F22 and use your filter, the more exposure time you can get the better. Might be a good idea to wait until the light is fading at night too.

Very nice indeed. A fascinating image actually, I could explore it for ages. Love the soft hues, the contrasting textures of the stones and pebbles and the refreshing cool, tranquil sense the whole image has about it.

It's something else, sometimes you see too much through it, you have no idea how close i was to that rock and how big it was
You can see a lot of the world through this lens
