Ah!! I'm done!! And just in time, because today was my 2 year anniversary on DeviantArt! I honestly can't believe I've been on here for two whole years! Jeez, the time really flies!
And so much has changed in those two years! I wasn't consistent in uploading until December of last year, and that really helped my growth! Like, I had two followers this time last year, LMAO
I picked pieces that were specific to me. I have some art that I'm really proud of for other people, but I wanted to focus on me if that's okay XD
Some of these months were really hard to choose. Specifically October and November, where apparently I did a lot of art-ing XD
Here were the runners up for October:
With the Soul of the Sun
Hoiri Akka: the Gods' Pride
I ended up going with Hunting Trails because that's the first real piece I did in my new cut out style! It was so well received and also the only piece of mine that has over 100 favorites! I had to go with it!
Here was the runner up for November:
Family Game Night
That piece just makes me super happy, but I ended up going with A Gentle Reminder because that is honestly the best coloring I've done in any piece and I'm so proud of it!!
Anyways! I've grown so much this past year. I'm honestly so proud of my progress! I think I've improved most in my backgrounds, coloring, and anatomy!
For the next year, I want to keep growing in my coloring and do a lot more architecture to completely figure that out!

Oh, this is such a delight to see these all in one place! I noticed you had a hard time choosing for October and November too! I think those months were super productive for so many of us for some reason! or at the very least, super inspired. My October pick was also my deviation with the most favs of everything on my page! Ah~ sorry, I just love coincidences! Like how Val is like your Seb cuz he's on this the most! lol!
So though your year, we can see the shading improving immensely! I love that you used the redo for May because that really shows a huge jump in not just skill but confidence! It's really hard for me to choose a favorite of your dozen. I looooved July because that was your comic and it was the first in-depth look at your characters interacting (that I've seen) but I keep going back to October because that new million-layer style is delicious for the eyes! (kinda like the 5-layer dip at a party, maybe? Just don't put dip in your eyes.) But I'm also super biased because November has the pretty glow effects (AND IT'S BLUE AND PIIINKKKKK) and I'm a sucker for that.
Overall, you've had an incredibly impressive year, I have to say!! I know I haven't known you the whole year (feels like it though!) but I'm so stoked about Un-Phased... and that there's a title to it now!! AHH! 2020 is a new year, new decade, new world of art waiting for us. LET'S HECKIN' TO THIS, GOSH DARNG IT! XD

I know! This whole thing was extra special for me to make because this was the first year that I consistently had digital art every month let alone digital art that I'm still proud of! And yeah! While October was a stressful time for me, it was a great creative month! I blame Inktober XD Also the fact that that month had both of our most favorited pieces is really nice! A shared month for many reasons!!
Also Yes!! I was thinking of how much my little cloak lad appears! Makes sense though, he's definitely my go-to lad for whenever I'm in a drawing mood but don't know what to draw XD He also shares my sense of humor, which is why I use him as a persona of sorts (though to be clear, he's really nothing like me, I share much more personality with Zak, LMAO) He and Seb may not share much in common, but the two are definitely well-loved XD
Ah! I know!! I love all of these pieces for one reason or another! I learned something new in each of them! And AH! 5 layer dip!! Your wordplay never ceases to amaze me in its cleverness! I absolutely see why you gravitated towards Cicero in the first place, cause AH! It's just my million-layer eye dip, and I'm using that forever XD But YESS!! Out of all of them, I think November is my favorite! I've never had that much success with colors before and it just makes me so happy!!!
And AAA!!! Un-Phased is COMING, babey!!!! I'm scripting the first story of it during my break, and once that's finalized, it's comic time!! :3

Oh yeah, June! It was Val's Dad reveal, haha! Turns out he's a dorkus who loves playing cards and is where Val got his love of cards, ha! He also wasn't one to just let Val win, Val's gotta earn it!

Oh!! I just remembered I did storyboards with the main characters for school if you wanna see it! Even though it doesn't have Pip and isn't canon to the story (I had to cut out and change things to make it work as homework, haha) the personalities are all there and I'm very proud of what I did!

Overall it's been good! School has been rough but rewarding, and the only thing that I could live without was some totally unnecessary personal drama that I absolutely hated. BUT!!! I'm so happy with my art progress and everything I've done here on Deviantart!!

it's actually how I found out I had arthritis too XD I've only known about it for...about 7 months now. . . Out of my entire life I've had it. Still shakes me.
So like, Back in February, I had these high heel boots and I was walking to our car and slipped sideways. I didn't fall but my right leg slid under the car. I just caught my breath, happy I didn't fall XD
buuut about a week later I was starting to feel sharp pain in my lower back and thigh area. I didn't think much of it cause I'm used to light hip pain. So I just took pain killers. As the dats went by the pain got worse and worse. I told my mom so she took me to the doctor and got an X-Ray. He told me I might've sprained it or injured it a bit and told me to use an ice pack and rest for a few days. So I did.
It felt better untill mid April then the pain started to settle back in, again I didn't pay much attention thought cause yeah, a sprain XD so my mom called me to go to the store with her so once I got outside I jumped off the deck and landed on that leg, it didn't hurt at first but OHHH by the end of the day I was dragging it behind me. I don't know how but jumping off the deck fractured the neck that connects the ball joint to my leg bone cause it was already weak and hurt.
I was hanging on, limping on the wal-mart cart on the way out of the store just trying not to cry from the pain and everyone kept staring at me XD I hated it-
hard headed me REFUSED to go to the ER so I made my mom take me home and she and my dad carried me inside the house. I layed flat on the couch for hours, just crying cause it hurt so bad. My grandpa finally came over and said a prayer too.
So fast forward a few weeks of pain and Doctor visits and other X-Rays. They couldn't find what was wrong. So they told me to see an Orthopedic Doctor. Oh he was FUN XD he mentioned surgery- and all sorts of crap. By this time the last X-Ray revealed I had Arthritis, which was the end of the world for the Orthopedic doctor XD he kept freaking out cause a 17 year old has moderate Arthritis in the hip. He said my hip was an old persons hip XD so he ordered an MRI to see and find the cause of the arthritis, not even caring about the pain XD he thought there was no proper blood flow to my hip joint. Which would need a full hip replacement, at 17 YEARS OLD-
So yeah, skip a week and I got the MRI...that was a nightmare.
They FINALLY Found that the whole cause of my pain was the deep fracture ( it almost needed surgery for its size if I had gotten it sooner ) but by this time it was half healed XD and the blood flow to my hip is completely fine, I was just possibly born or somehow got the arthritis at a very young age.
so yeah...that's one thing I'll never forget XD my mom said I was pretty dang strong to only live on Tylenol, heat packs and some muscle medicine the doctor gave me with a broken bone XD
im pretty proud of myself honestly. But Gish I wish to NEVER EVER FEEL that pain again XD

I'm so glad you didn't need surgery though, that's always so scary and such a hassle! And to have arthritis so young is scary! I'm so amazed by how well you took the entire scenario!!
I'm so glad you're feeling better now and I'll be hoping and praying you get the proper help instead of just hopping around from doctor to doctor *hug*

It was one of the stupidest things I've done...
looking back on it I should've just went to the ER that day but at that time I didn't care XD I just wanted to be home.
Yeah...I still don't understand what arthritis is other than I get daily pain and stiffness and it's slowly eating away my bone cartilage and you can't reverse it XD but it's not too bothering thankfully.
Well, mentally I didn't take it too well XD I've had a lot of mental breakdowns- but physically I took it like a trooper- XD I gues stubbornness and determination does get you somewhere
