Height chart of the koopa 'family'Β I tried to give them more varied body types compared to the official designs.
Is it odd that ive always liked these characters as a child far more then any of the 'good' characters in the Mario series?

By the way. I downloaded Mario Kart Tour and I have Larry and Ludwig Koopa. Ludwig is my favorite koopa kid.

Actually Lemmy seems like he's pretty much a toddler or preschooler. No older than five or six but most likely younger. That were ages at first glance that I said, actually going on backwards I'd actually say:
Lemmy - 1 year old
Bowser Jr. - 5 years old
Larry, Wendy, and Ludwig - 8 years old
Iggy - 11 year old
Roy - 30 year old
Morton - 40Β year old
basically Roy and Morton don't look teenaged in this pic, they look like they're short adults. Morton expecially looks like he's the same age as Bowser. Don't different koopa subspecies have different sizes?
But in the game canon version, I think that Bowser Jr. is 6, and the Koopalings are all at least 18. The Koopalings are said to be Bowser's minions and much older than Bowser Jr. with Larry being a few years younger than the other Koopalings.
That is, if they were real. Nintendo wiews its characters ages as simply being the ages of their debut games. This means that the Koopalings are as old as SMB3 which was released in 1988, while Bowser Jr. is as old as Super Mario Sunshine which was released in 2002.
The Mario games don't have much of a continuity, even compared to The Sims.
Their designs give me the vibe that they're adults, except Lemmy who looks like a toddler (but who is canonically the same age as Iggy and Roy) Bowser Jr. who seems elementary school aged, and Larry who seems about 11-15 but is also propably an adult.

Ah I get you now, it's mostly just my style here (which is old, it's changed at lot since) that makes them look younger or older than they are, mostly just because I was playing around different body types especially in Mortons case.Β

Me too, I often make the adult character look teenaged-ish when I draw them.Β
Morton, Roy, Iggy, Ludwig, Wendy, and Lemmy would be the same age, with Larry only one year younger than them, and they would all be grownups, so you could'nt really tell who is older or younger. Their canon selves look like they should propably all be 18 and born on the same day.Β
Then again its possible that their birth order changes when their fight order changes, with the one first fought always being the youngest and the last fought the oldest regardless of who they are.
It's like how in The Sims for example in one game you could have toddler Alexander and child Cassandra with elder Bella and Mortimer and dead-of-old-age Michael, while in another game you could have toddler Alexander and Cassandra, young adult Bella and Mortimer, and teen Michael. Meaning that in one game Michael was underage when Alexander and Cassandra were born, and in another game he was already dead of old age when Alex and Cassandra were born, and they'd both be canon, but at the same time, neither of them would be canon.

These days its mostly thier voices that stops me from thinking they are little kids,(With the obvious exception of Jr) they tend to sound like teens or adults especially Roy Morton and Ludwig. But ive pretty much given up on trying to figure out whats canon with these guys. First nintendo goes 20 or so years of saying they are Bowsers kids then suddenly they confirm they arent. , i don't think even nintendo knows or cares about whats Canon in their own series anymore so ive given up on bothering haha.

They're straight up called "Bowser's minions" in Japan, they're chibily-drawn adults.
I think the "Koopaling as Bowser's kids" was just a Western translation thing.Β
