This.... omg.... I'm afraid to go through the comments but "presentation at the temple" based on my own history only means one thing. Β Same grouping of men. Β Same little girl put in a white dress. Β I'm sure SOMEONE in the comments knows exactly what this is portraying. Β I'm just shocked to see someone put my history into paint. Β holy fucking wow. Β .....and that someone could know the set up so well. Β ??? Β damn.

I apologize in advance, if my comment is offensive to you ... that is not my intention. This painting stopped me dead in my tracks! So powerful ... it is quite literally gut-wrenching! So powerful ... how Art mirrors culture! I would have named it "The Sacrificial Lamb" ... of a young girl whose innocence is about to be stolen ... by men "disguised" in fine suits ... who are "in reality" ... Grotesque Monsters! This painting depicts ... "the secret underbelly" ... of many families! This painting "shocks the senses!" In my humble opinion ... this painting is "the most powerful" painting on Deviant Art!

Interesting, I can see the irony of the piece. Initially, one might think that this is a photograph of early 20th century doctors about to perform an operation on a deformed child. Upon closer inspection, one can see that it is, in fact, the doctors who are deformed and the child who is in good health.

This is a beautifully done piece- and from a distance it looks as though their heads and the light shining between their legs formed the teeth of a huge mouth engulfing her.
While I'm not sure that was intended, that layout really seems to reinforce the message I get from this
