i was just reading the other comments here - and well, we have the same silly nonsense here. the big city zoo is supposed to be closed but the authorities say it would cost too much to 'relocate' the animals. so they do nothing. the zoo has altogether been so badly managed that one of the wardens was even killed by an elephant! the whole affair has turned into a massive scandal with the zoo director having been sacked. but the whole institution of the zoo is something that the people in the past wanted and is so out of date now. your image here really sums up the whole story - in one picture. with your amazing style you've managed to capture a remarkable expression. very moving.

i swear to the God that I can't stand this. I hate to go to the zoo... my parents obliged me. I feel so ashamed that my parents were giving money to see some animals which were caught from their habitant. I can't stand this! They should let them live in peace. Not to pay some money just to see the sadness from their face.


The moment you caught is great ... it really shows some sadness hidden inside him.

Really cool photo, but really sad at the same time... It`s so cruel, the way we treet animals...
